"Clinton, Lewinsky, and WMD's"

We all know now that President Clinton received Oral Sex In The Oval Office of The White House. He was not being totally honest with the public about this, and did intentionally mislead the country in this regard, however, in my opinion, he did not lie when he said "I did not have sex with that woman."

The President was impeached for this "Lie" and the Nation was paralyzed for a long time during the Impeachment proceedings. He was questioned by a Grand Jury, having been pursued by Special Council over this and other issues such as Whitewater, and the White House travel office. Was the nation, the Congress, and the President distracted from their duties by the Impeachment? Of course they were. I can still hear the echoing words such as "It's not that he lied about sex, it's about that he lied."

It remains incredible to me that the "outrage" of the Congress was so significant about Clintons sexual activities, and not about going to war because of WMD's, that apparently did not exist at the time, and don't exist today. Over 500 Americans have been killed, as well as thousands of Iraqis. Isn't it possible for someone in the administration to say, "We acted in the best interests of our citizens, and we made a mistake? Our intelligence was/and possibly still is flawed, and we are taking steps to correct this inadequacy". It doesn't seem valid today to say "The world is better off today without Sadaam Hussein".

I believe that lying about sex in our society is almost a "tradition" It is. however. an issue between the parties involved, not the Congress of the United States. Apparently, many do not share this view.

I would like to see what would happen if the President, Vice President, the Secretary of Defense, and the Director of the CIA were put under oath to testify as to what they knew, or didn't know about WMD's. Now that would be interesting. How about the Congress seeking the truth? That would be interesting as well.

Finally, whatever became of the "biased" liberal mass media about these issues? Perhaps their being owned by gigantic corporations that need to seek things from the regulators has something to do with their lack of outrage, or am I behaving like the liberal Democrat that I am.
